Lots Of News Today

August 5, 2013

Good morning.  It's looking like another gorgeous day outside.  Pogo and I are watching a repeat of some of America's Got Talent on TV.  I missed a lot of these acts when they were first on, so this is great.

Thanks to Jimmy Dean, I have just finished, and enjoyed, a breakfast of eggs, potatoes and sausage.  Nuke it, add a little black pepper, and yum, yum!  Sounds like I never cook, huh?  Well I don't cook as often as I used to, but thanks to frozen meals, I don't go hungry.  Cooking for one just isn't much fun.  Maybe this week I'll make up a big pot of pasta and meat sauce.  This will be fun because then I share it with who ever wants some.

I do have news to share this morning.  SIL Eddie bought me a  gift yesterday, and Joe got it set up on the front porch.  It's a locked mail box for packages.  I have wanted one of these for so long.  Now I won't have to worry about rushing home when the mail lady leaves packages of medicines.  Here's a photo of it.  Isn't it a beauty?

I will also share a great gift that my sister in law, Edie, made for me.  It's a bowl made from a 78 LP record album.  I was going to explain how to make one, but it's best if you go to You Tube and look up "How To Make A Vinyl Album Bowl".  There are lots of videos for this.  Be sure to watch a few and pick the one that is easiest for you.  Be sure not to use a baking temperature of more than 200 degrees.  (no matter what the video says).  Here's what my bowl looks like.

And here's a close-up of the album that Edie used to make the bowl.  Look at those fabulous songs!  I listened to this music when I was just a very young girl.  Oh my, the memories!

Today is Mandarin Orange Monday, and I have a gorgeous orange lily (from the Mrs' garden)  to share with you.

And, because I'm feeling so chipper this morning, I have a new freebie for you.  I got a lovely pink flower graphic from the The Graphics Fairy, and had a bit of fun with it making a border and a page edge.  Have fun with it.

For those of you who want to know how small Pogo is, he is up to six pounds now and wears a size small shirt.  Sometimes the shirt is too big, but a turn in the dryer usually shrinks it down to size.  When I first got Pogo, he weighed 3.7 pounds, and he wore a size extra small shirt.  Lots of good loving and good food, and he has gained about two and a half pounds this past year.

That's it for today.  Now I want to spend some time playing with Pogo.  He is snuggled up against me waiting patiently for me to finish this post.   So, till tomorrow, Y'all be safe and have a fantabulous day.

Hugs, Edna B.

You certainly are loaded with news this morning. What a mailbox ... will the mailman put your regular mail in there as well, or just packages? I didn't even know you could get such a thing.

The Orange MOM Lily is absolutly gorgeous. I don't believe I have ever seen one like it. We have the orange Tiger lilies, but this one is a beauty. Great MOM entry.

Little Pogo is up to six pounds ... that is awesome. Some good healthy livin' will do it every time. I know he is so happy with you and you have done so much for him. We do love our furbabies ... and what is wonderful is they love us back unconditionally.

Thank you for the borders ... the flowers are so delicate. I will be looking for ways to put them to use.

I have a little (or I should say, not so little) furbaby talking to me right now. We already did our rubbies, but now he thinks he should get more or maybe he's looking for food which wouldn't be a surprise. He is a very persistent little boy and I know he won't be quiet until I at least give him some lovin', so I had better attend to it. You and Pogo have a wonderful day. It is cloudy here and they are predicting rain. We can always use it, but it just makes my grass grow faster which means I have to mow it sooner ... oh my. It never ends does it ...

Be Well, my Friend ..

Pogo has gotten so big! It makes me think of David's imagining Kaline's question after Marco came home; "Does this kitten make me look fat?" Answer is well, yeah. She's 12 pounds. He was 1.7 2 weeks ago, probably ab0ut 2 now.

I like prepared meals too. Especially when David is working the night shift, like this week, they are good and cheaper than ordering in!

The record bowl is very cool and while I don't listen ti them anymore, I do have a working record player so I'd have a hard time trying to make a bowl out of my old records. Hmmm...

Thank you for the pretty freebie!

Hugs, Nani

Your mailbox is awesome! And so handy, yes. Now they can leave packages and you don;t have to pick them up at the postoffice Great idea!
And I just love the LP bowl. What a wonderful idea too and what a nice gift!
Pogo has such a good life with you LOL. He is just looking so healthy and happy now! Can rememeber the first photo of him, what a difference.
Those prepared meals are very nice, when you haven't much time, but you DO have to eat sometimes fresh prepared dinner, although I can understand their isn;t much fun just cooking for yourself.
Take care, have a great day,
Hug
