Satin Sheets Aren't For Everyone

October 8, 2009

No rain this morning. It's bright and sunny, and hopefully a bit warm, although I see folks wearing heavy shirts out there today. I guess Winter winds are right around the corner. A few more days and we will have to be turning the heat on in the house.

If you have been following Snow Raven's blog, you will know that starting tomorrow (or sooner), she will be losing her internet connection for 7 to 10 days. Oh dear, oh dear!! Snowy, I really do feel for you. I am a raving lunatic when my PC goes kaput. And when I was in Florida with no internet for two weeks, I went searching for dumpsters to sit by while trying to catch weak internet signals from surrounding businesses.

Towards the end of my Dumpster Dolly days, I found out that places like McDonald's, and coffee houses offer free internet with a teeny purchase. Snowy, you must have places like that where you are. Check it out. It will save you a lot of grief.

Before I go any further, let me explain about any inverted letters you may find in my words. It's called dyslexia, and I try to catch all of the twisted words, but sometimes I miss some. I discovered this years ago when I started having lots of problems trying to do crossword puzzles. I would have a problem fitting correct answers in the spaces provided. Usually just putting it down for a while would solve my problem. It also causes problems for me when I am trying to read fancy printing and lettering. Sometimes I have to study words or titles for a while before I figure out what they say. But in the end, it is not a really big deal for me.

My friend Snow Raven is having a delightful experience with satin sheets. My Michael used to love his satin sheets. I remember one year, I put them on all the beds in my house, and gave some out as Christmas gifts. Seems the only one who had a problem with them was my son-in-law. He and my daughter spent the night with us that Christmas eve, and he cursed me up and down every time he slid off the bed that night. We thought it was hilarious, but of course, he did not share our view. I don't think he has used them again since.

For today's freebie Halloween QP, I have one called "Shall We Dance?" Think about it for a moment. If we enjoyed music and dancing during our lifetime, isn't it plausible that we would still enjoy it when we become a skeleton? These two are on a marvelously romantic date, and enjoying dancing and listening to Rock n Roll music. (yup, that's my era) Have some fun with it.

I think I shall share a rather nice event with you. A new dwarf just moved in late yesterday afternoon. While he was bringing in some of his things, he spotted his very best friend from his childhood days (whom he hasn't seen for so many years) sitting at the kitchen table eating his dinner. Needless to say, it was a nice reunion for the two of them.

This morning, I stopped by Kyra's blog, and picked up the prettiest fall kit. It's called "Warm Colors of Fall" and rightly so. The rich shades of orange, yellow, green and brown are just gorgeous. Don't forget to stop by and download it. http://smiekeltje.blogspot.com./

I'm off now to scare up some new mischief for today. Y'all have a fantastic day now.

Oh wow ! That is such a nice dwarf story !!! What a reunion !!! Lol- the sheet is not satin, by the way-just the quiltcover and pillow covers. So I was never in danger of sliding out of bed, lol. But the nice thing is , I used to have a single cover, this one is a double-for me alone,lol-it's huge !!! One hour 'till I'm home now and finish work.Yes, I will survive the loss of internet -still got my "snail stick"-that will do and it gives me an opportunity to start making the x-mas cards, lol.Stick worked fine last night with Erik-so touch wood-it might not be so bad at all ! Hugs Snowy

I found I liked satin sheets if they were half and half. I liked the bottom sheet, but with a cuddly blanket above. Skip the pillow cases too - you want slidig out of bed? When the satin on satin moved it shot the pillows out with added velocity!
