Protest March Tomorrow!!

October 18, 2008

Oh dear, the 19th is almost on top of me. That's the day this great grandmother and her little dog will be participating in a protest march for the first time ever. I will bring along Tootsie's pink stroller, because neither one of us can march for 15 minutes, let alone an hour. My daughter, Dee and the lovely Miss Jasmine (my granddaughter)will also be marching with us. Maybe one of them will give me a boot every now and then to keep me moving.

The reason for all of this? My youngest child (now a middle-aged adult) has lived in a nursing facility most all her life. She is profoundly handicapped and retarded, and knows no other life than that in her own little world, and she is quite comfortable and happy there.

Now some person has come along and decided that all our adult-aged children should be removed from their safe haven, and put into residential homes within communities elsewhere. Why this peabrain would have the audacity to know what is best for my daughter, I'll never know. However she went to court with lawyers and got the state and the court's approval.

Now a lot of us families are fighting very hard to keep our loved ones right where they are now. Our children and safe and extremely well taken care of. If anyone of you knows of Groton, Massachusetts, the facility is the "Seven Hills of Groton." It is basically a pediatric facility, and all of our children went in as babies or children. A lot of them are now adults, sort of. Their little bodies got bigger, but nothing else matured. They have been given exceptionally fantastic care by a very loving staff. This care is why most of these children are still alive. In my Laura's case, I know this is so.

My Laura is a beautiful petite, blue-eyed blonde whose only joys are the sounds and touches that she feels. She loves to be pampered, and she loves to listen to music. She cannot see or do anything else, not even move by herself. Does this nimcompoop really think that by moving her away from her safe haven to an unknown whatever is really going to be good for Laura?

PEABRAIN -- YOU NEED TO GET A LIFE!!!!!

Okay. I'm done venting at this person I have never met. (She's very lucky). I've been holding most of this in, and now it's out and I feel a bit better. However, tomorrow, WE STILL MARCH to protest this horrific unjust move. GOVERNOR DUVAL, shame on you for letting this happen. You've never even taken the time to meet my Laura or any of the other children. SHAME, SHAME, SHAME on you!!

As for today, Tootsie and I played ball for a while on the new carpet. I think she likes this new carpet. It's so thick and soft to walk on. She even sat in front of the fireplace heater for a while and played with some of her toys.

Tonight, Moo cooked supper for all of us. M-m-m-m, pork roast, applesauce, corn, potatoes, and Beneful Roasted Dinner for Tootsie. I mixed in some of our pork roast for her. This made her very happy.

For your freebie tonight, I made a layout and QP from one of Snow Raven's "Autumn Sensuality" kit. You can purchase this kit at http://www.magickalscraps.com/. The layout is for a friend of mine who is visiting with her favorite auntie. (featured in the photo). Enjoy the QP.

Hopefully, when I get home tomorrow night, I'll be in a much nicer mood. Sorry about the venting, but it had to be. We are our children's voices, and we will be heard tomorrow.

Hugs, Edna B.

Hurray for YOU! It is about time we Seniors take back our World. Too many of these over educated, under-loved people want to change what works and has worked for years, into whatever they think is better for us. To heck with the old saying,,,'IF it ain't broke, don't FIX it!!!!'. Hope you all do make the area see what is happening is just wrong, no matter where you are from.
